CROP ON TOP

Hey there…Yes…you reading this 😀 Hope you’re  good. Can’t complain , I mean besides the fact that our house help decided to pull a fast one  on us and I’m on house detail…She went and we haven’t seen her for a week …The intrigues of house helps! Otherwise, I’m cool(Gnashing teeth) But my unceasing  love for fashion is a constant 🙂 Today I’m showing you guys an outfit I wore last week. You’ve seen these jeans on my blog a couple of times. The look consists of the repeat offender jeans, a light blue crop top with floral print, light blue wedges and a mustard bag. Remember when our Kenyan parents used to call crop tops ”tumbo cuts” ? Yeah…That would make me one of those girls your mama would warn you about back in the day, haha!

What’s your take on the just concluded Nairobi Fashion week and Kenya Fashion week? They sparked a lot of debate on  social media.  Including, ”why were they on the same weekend?” and ”We expected more for the money we paid for tickets” .Why Let’s just see what Strut It Africa Fashion Week has in store. Though 20,000/= for a VIP ticket and 5000/= for Silver…That’s more than…Anyway! IT BETTER BE WORTH IT!

Have and awesome week…With this house help situation,I know I’ll try. 😀

CHAIN LINKED

I know I’ve been quiet for a while. I’m good though, just gearing up for school…bummer. But here’s an outfit I wore last week. These are my new baroque/chain link-print leggings. I paired them with a mint off-the-shoulder crop top and basic black vest. I also wore gold pumps. What do you think? 🙂 This is me channeling my inner gangsta! sorta like ‘gangsta chic’ Anyone agree with me? No?  Ok.. 😀

MONDAY BLUES

Hey guys, so yesterday I attended an event. My bestie Ckay had invited me to her dad’s party. He was celebrating becoming a professor…IN MEDICINE…HOW EXTREMELY COOL IS THAT?! Yeah, I’m still doing undergrad and it’s already so tough. Then to a Masters, PH.d(Some say it stands for Permanent Head Damage, haha 😀 )and on to have the title professor before your name…Quite the task, but not impossible. Congratulations Professor Ronald Wasike!(Ckay’s dad)  I guess that makes it Dr.Dr.Prof.Ronald Wasike .We ate, danced to luhiya music Khand! and had loads of fun! It was great catching up with my high school buddies. It was the most fun I’ve had for some time. I went to church before the event. Today I’ll post on my outfit and later in the week I’ll post on the event because it has soo many photos and I want to put in as much as possible.

This is what I wore:

A chiffon top with floral print. It’s actually a hi-low top tucked in. I’m also in a cobalt blue pencil skirt, orange suede heels, cat-eye sunnies and my DIY chain…which is actually a belt.Let me tell you this type of chain is extremely hard to find. I finally debuted my new Dior lipstick which I posted about here .I love the texture and the way it’s the perfect shade of red for me.The other accessories are a simple orange bangle and orange envelope clutch.

The words I’m going by today and the rest of the week  ”When I get older ,I will be stronger , they’ll call me ‘Freedom’ ,just like a wavin’ flag …Accept no retreat…surrender…defeat.. ”

HAVE AN AWSOME WEEK.

DEACONS FASHION SHOW PART II

DSC00841

DSC00919

In my last post I posted about my outfit for the Deacons Fashion Show. Today,it’s all about the event. Basically it was an opportunity for 6 stylists to express their creativity through clothes from the Deacons Stores; Woolworths, Angelo,The Baby Shop and Zara courtesy of 4U2.Ann McCreath of Kiko Romeo pointed out the fact that in Kenya the spotlight is never shed so much  stylists .They are as important as the model, designer and photographer in a photo shoot. I’m glad they’re finally being recognized! The stylists were Wambui Kibue of Sunday Nation, Sunny Dolat, Wambui Thimba of Standard Newspaper, Annabel Onyango of Mnet’s ‘Mashariki Mix’ , Connie Aluoch of The Nairobian/True Love/KTN , Anyiko Owoko of KBC/UP Magazine and Eddie Kirindo of True Love and DRUM Magazines. So yeah, these were pretty distinguished stylists.I was delighted when they announced that it would be an annual event.

Well, it was better than I expected in some aspects. I thought I was gonna stand the whole time but phew, there were seats. I even came prepared with my flats and low pumps. It started an hour late but I guess if they started when they were supposed to, there really would be no crowd. I put in my name for a draw, but Juelz, the blogger I was sitting next to won! How close 😀 Their vouchers were worth 500/= ,1000/= and 5000/= .  The 500 bob voucher… I doubt you can purchase anything worthwhile at deacons though. Another thing is I could see the tags on the clothes the models were wearing…uh..no! Not good. Otherwise, I enjoyed the showcase and the energetic atmosphere and I’m glad I got to meet the fashion bloggers I met.Without further ado…The photos! Today there will be a barrage of photos. Hope you’re psyched for them!

Annabel Onyango hugging one of her models. She was the winner of the KSh.100,000 grand prize. She wears the crown and is the stylist of the year. I loved what she wore. Her whole look  of the printed jumpsuit, the hat and boots ,was fantastic.
